More Free MQ Software

Capitalware Inc. would like to announce a licensing change for MQ Channel Auto Creation Manager (MQCACM) and MQ Channel Auto Creation Manager for z/OS (z/MQCACM). MQCACM and z/MQCACM are now ‘licensed as free’ software. i.e. Same as how IBM licenses MQ Client software.

MQCACM and z/MQCACM are an MQ Channel Auto-Definition (MQ CHAD) exits that allows a company to control and restrict incoming connection requests to auto-create a channel. MQCACM (or z/MQCACM) is invoked when a request is received to start an undefined Receiver, Server-Connection, Cluster-Receiver or Cluster-Sender channel. MQCACM can modify or clear the supplied default channel definition values for an instance of the channel, so that there is no exit incompatibility (cross-platform or otherwise).

Both MQCACM and z/MQCACM are licensed as a free product. They are free to use but support is not included. A support license may be purchased.

For more information about MQCACM, please go to:

Or for z/MQCACM, please go to:

Have you been contacted?

A customer just contacted me saying that since MQTC v2.0.1.3, people at their company who attended the conference along with managers, Directors and Sr. Directors, CIO, etc. have been contacted by someone named Danny Hyatt from Washington State University. This person is asking for contact information to send out a thank you card.

I do not know who this person is nor have I asked a 3rd party to send out a ‘thank you card’. The ONLY person who would be contacting MQTC attendees would be ME.

Please do NOT give out any personal information or information about your management to this person.

Now if you want, you can have fun and give out George Jetson or Barney Rubble or Fred Flintstone’s information to this person. 🙂

If you have been contacted, please let me know as I would like to try and figure who this person is and so would my lawyers. You know, if you don’t feed lawyers regularly, they start gnawing on the furniture.

Summary of MQ Technical Conference v2.0.1.3

Well, that was a great conference (in my humble opinion). After it was over on Wednesday, my wife and I (and kids too) went to Kalahari’s water park, crawled into the hot tub and relaxed for an hour – boy did that feel good. 🙂

I would like to thank the attendees, speakers and sponsors for taking a chance on a brand new MQ conference. I truly appreciate all the positive feedback I received.

The goal of the conference was to educate people on MQ and provide some good food to people in a relaxing environment over a 3-day period. I purposely scheduled the sessions to be 75 minutes (to have a 20-25 minute Q&A rather than 5-10 minutes) and put a 15 minute break after each session, so that people did not need to rush from one session to the next. Kalahari has very comfortable chairs and couches along both sides of the hall, so that during the breaks, people can sit down and chat in a relaxing manner.

If people who attended went home educated, well feed and with a smile on their face, then I have achieved my goal.

The funniest part of organizing the conference was before the conference began, everyone asked ‘why did I pick Sandusky, Ohio, its in the middle of nowhere’. Once everyone got to Kalahari, they said great place and understood why I picked it (in the middle of nowhere). 🙂

So what’s next? Once I finish the paperwork for MQTC v2.0.1.3, as I announced on Wednesday, I’ll begin booking Capitalware’s MQ Technical Conference v2.0.1.4 for next September. 🙂 So, save a spot in your calendar for MQTC v2.0.1.4!!
