New: Universal File Mover v1.2.1

Capitalware is pleased to announce the release of Universal File Mover v1.2.1. It is a free open source project.

Universal File Mover is more than a simple tool to manage the transfer of files. It allows the user to combine business processes into a workflow. The user combines a series of Action commands to create the UFM Workflow XML file. UFM is supported on AIX, HP-UX, IBM i (OS/400), Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris and Windows.

    Changes:

  • Added reconnection code to MQReceive (and for Status Queue connection) and now it will wait forever to reconnect.
  • Added code to get and display MQ JAR version
  • Added “catch (Exception e)” clauses in UFM’s MQ code to prevent unhandled exceptions
  • Updated Shell Scripts (32-bit & 64-bit) to correctly handle the MQ_JAVA_LIB_PATH environment variable

For more information on Universal File Mover, please go to:
https://www.capitalware.com/ufm_overview.html

Note: When upgrading UFM from an ealier release, please remember to deploy the receiver side first because the MQSend action defaults to use MQ properties. There is a new MQSend attribute called ‘usev7prop’. It defaults to ‘Y’. The user can set the ‘usev7prop’ attribute to ‘N’ and it will use the old style handling for the Remote FileName and Directory.

Capitalware Product Advisory for Windows

It has been discovered that a common subroutine for dumping environment variables on Windows had an error with the FreeEnvironmentStrings Windows API call. Hence, this would cause the product to leak memory on Windows. This is true regardless of the IniFile’s LogMode keyword value.

This issue affects all Capitalware commercial and ‘Licensed As Free’ products for Windows.

    Commercial Products Affected:

  • MQ Auditor (MQA) v1.2.0.9 to v2.2.0.0
  • MQ Authenticate User Security Exit (MQAUSX) v1.5.2.13 to v3.0.0.0
  • MQ Channel Encryption (MQCE) v3.0.0.0 to v3.1.0.0
  • MQ Enterprise Security Suite (MQESS) v1.5.2.13 to v3.0.0.0
  • MQ Message Encryption (MQME) v2.0.0.1 to v3.2.0.0
  • MQ Standard Security Exit (MQSSX) v1.3.0.11 to v2.2.0.0

Note: For MQAUSX, both server-side and client-side components are affected.

    Licensed As Free Products Affected:

  • MQ Channel Auto Creation Manager v1.0.0 to v1.0.1.2
  • MQ Set UserID v1.0.0.0
  • Client-side Security Exit for Depository Trust Clearing Corporation v1.0.0.0

The downloads for the ‘Licensed As Free’ products have been updated and posted to our web site.

To get the latest Capitalware commercial product release, send an email to
support@capitalware.com and we will send you the latest release of the particular product.

Apple to Open Source Swift

Today at WWDC 2015, Apple announced that it will open source its Swift language:
https://developer.apple.com/swift/blog/?id=29
http://arstechnica.com/apple/2015/06/apple-open-sources-swift/

And the best part of the announcement, is that Linux will be supported. As SNL’s church lady would say “Well, isn’t that SPE-CIAL?”. 🙂

Debian is a free operating system (OS) for your computer. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. Debian uses the Linux kernel (the core of an operating system), but most of the basic OS tools come from the GNU project; hence the name GNU/Linux.
